Monarch Counseling Center provides counseling to individuals ranging from adolescents to adults who are encountering various “pothole” stages in their life.

What I bring to the process is an accumulation of over 40 years of diverse experiences in various settings such as a school-based program, sexual abuse treatment program, outpatient mental health clinic, inpatient mental health hospital, and services that were provided at Catholic Charities and Salvation Army.

I utilize a holistic approach in the psychotherapeutic process which involves treating the whole person; their physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual well-being.  In such an approach, all aspects of the individual, their life experiences, and their relationships, are taken into consideration for assessment and treatment.

In terms of psychotherapeutic modalities, I rely on an eclectic array of methods, whether it is cognitive-behavioral, systems, or psycho-analytic, it all depends on the individual. Every individual is unique and comes with their own set of needs and wants.

For example, an individual may rely on their past experiences when facing difficult challenges.  Unfortunately those strategies are not always useful and actually can become problematic. It requires some unlearning and rethinking.  This is where psychotherapy can be beneficial and enable our clients to move forward. The combination of psychotherapy and other practices allow in many cases for our clients to find resolution in their challenges.

“God never said that the journey would be easy but He did say that the arrival would be worthwhile.”
— Max Lucado

Monarch Counseling Center also incorporates a Biblical dimension for those individuals who wish to bring their Christian faith into the psychotherapeutic process.  The integration of both psychological and Biblical principles has the capacity to culminate into a journey of health and strength.

“God’s work in you is a process, not an event.  It progresses not in three or four huge moments, but in 10,000 little moments of change.” -Paul David Tripp

In other words, the work that is done is a step by step process, utilizing a variety of means and methods.  Ultimately, however, I, Marcella Rummel, firmly believe that it is in a safe and secure environment, wherein privacy and confidentiality is practiced, that a solid relationship is built and transformation takes place.

The goal Monarch Counseling Center has for the client is to bring restoration by developing a better understanding of themselves, physically, emotionally, mentally, socially, and spiritually, then integrating this understanding into their daily life.
